Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe have been nominated for the AFL Players Association Most Valuable Player Award.

On the back of All Australian selection last week the trio of Swans have been voted the most influential players according to their teammates.

Kennedy, Parker and Rampe are among 54 players from across the competition that are in line for the prestigious award with the winner to be announced on Tuesday evening.

The award has been won by the Swans just once previously when Gerrard Healy took out the honour following his standout 1988 season.

Rampe has improved his game to be one of the elite defenders in the competition with his versatility to play on a range of different forwards his biggest strength.

Midfidler dynamo Kennedy has played every game this year ranking second in the competition for clerances from his average of 32 disposals per game.

Parker continues to be a threat right across the field as he once again has showcased his ability to push forward and impact the scoreboard in 2016.

Nominations for the MVP award is a two-stage process – the first is players nomination three teammates for the award, the second is three nominations from each club are presented to the wider playing group for a final vote on the winner.

Players cannot vote for their own teammates during the second stage of the process.

Fresh from his victory in the AFL Rising Star award Callum Mills has been nominated for the Best First Year player, an award won by Swans youngster Isaac Heeney in 2015.

Parker will be looking to go back-to-back in the Most Courageous award after being nominated for the award he won in 2015.

Both Kieren Jack and Jarrad McVeigh are among the contenders for the 2015 Best Captain to also be announced on the night.

The winners will be announced at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday 13th September at Peninsula in Docklands.
