The future of the Sydney Swans on display at Lakeside Oval on Monday night with the QBE Academy Cup in full swing for two age groups for the first time.
The Under 12 girls and Under 11 boys played their first QBE Academy Cup which involves modified games against each other.
There were 40 participants in the Under 11 boys group meanwhile the girls group saw a smaller group of talent with many young girls down the South Coast of NSW trialling for the All Schools competition
Conditions were a little slippery due to the mid-afternoon rain, however participants skills at times looked quite good with some pleasing passages of ball movement down the ground to score.
Academy Cup games give the players a chance to show their development on the back of the weekly Monday Skills sessions and the occasional age group Wednesday squad sessions.
