The Sydney Swans will close the annual ANZAC Day round this Sunday when we take on Hawthorn at the MCG. Catch up on all the top headlines ahead of Sunday afternoon with this week's Red and White News, presented by 7News Sydney.

100 career games for Rowbottom

James Rowbottom is set to play his 100th career game this weekend when the Swans play Hawthorn on Sunday afternoon. Speaking ahead of the milestone, the 23-year-old reflected on the achievement.

"It's something I'm very proud of, to get to 100 games," he told journalists.

"But something I pride myself on is just being as consistent as possible and playing my role for the team each week."

Rowbottom recently signed a four-year contract extension keeping him in red and white until at least 2028. He was originally drafted with pick 25 in 2018, making his debut against Richmond the following year.

Parker a test for Round 7

Luke Parker will be a test to play this weekend after an arm injury sidelined the midfielder during the pre-season. Senior coach John Longmire told journalists on Wednesday that he will need to do some contested work in training before he's given the all-clear.

“We haven't made the decision whether he plays or not this week. He's got to get through training..." Longmire said.

Florent to play 100th consecutive game

In more exciting milestone news, defender Oliver Florent is set to play his 100th consecutive game this weekend. Goodes also holds the Swans record for most consecutive games at 204.

Florent was recruited to the Swans with pick 11 in the 2016 draft and made his debut in Round 1 the following year. He is expected to play his 150th career games in Round 8.

Longmire: "We're still aiming to get better."

The senior coach spoke in a weekly press conference on Wednesday and shared insight into preparation for Round 7. Speaking on the team's return to the MCG Longmire said:

“We lost by five points and we won a couple of weeks before that so I think it's more about making sure we're attuned to what we're going to get. Which is enormous pressure, enormous physicality from Hawthorn and making sure that we continue to be consistent."
